Do you want a public art commission? Are you intimidated by the idea of public art? Do you find it difficult to decide which public art projects are right for you?

Lynn Basa, Chicago-based artist and author of The Artist’s Guide to Public Art will present an informational workshop on public art. Lynn will share examples of application processes and successful applications, her experience in the process, best practices, and highl…ights of some of her work, as well as the benefits of working in such a large scale.

Brandi Reddick, Communications and Artists Manager of Miami-Dade Art in Public Places and Dennis Leyva, Miami Beach Public Art Coordinator will also be in attendance to speak about public art opportunities locally.

This workshop is open to artists in any stage in their careers. For a fee of $20 ($10 for LegalArt members), artists will learn where to find public art commission opportunities, how to effectively read call-for-artists, and what goes into writing a winning letter of interest.
