LegalArt will collaborate with Deering Estate in a joint exhibition including their current and past residents who will take over the Richmond Cottage and the Stone House. Participating artists are encouraged to select a space within the Deering properties that will dialogue with their artwork or influence their proposal. This leads to site specific installations which incorporate the aesthetics of the property into the exhibition. The exhibition promises to generate a fresh dialogue about the history and background of Deering Estate.

Curatorial Statement: Wedding Crashers.
Weddings can be iconic images of momentary time. The preparation, the party and the aftermath are often based on grandiose images of fantasy or skewed reality. With the Deering Estate being such a popular wedding destination, these art installations, though curated for the spaces they occupy, are wedding crashers: uninvited witnesses that nonetheless embody a presence as fantastical as their surroundings.
