The Visiting Residency Program offers national and international cultural producers – artists, curators, art writers, scholars, museum professionals, etc. – one to three month residencies in Miami, Florida. Taking a cross-disciplinary approach to research and production, the program is strategically designed to facilitate collaboration and cross-pollination of diverse ideas and perspectives among residents. Moreover, the program encourages residents to fully integrate into the city by engaging community members, establishing professional relationships, and considering real issues at stake in Miami and South Florida. Residents are also welcome to propose programs, such as readings, panel discussions, performances, exhibitions, or off-site interventions, that are free and open to the public.
Each resident is provided a free, fully furnished live/work studio; a travel stipend; one parking space; technical and program administrative support; and shares a full kitchen, laundry facilities, and dining and lounge areas.
The application for the 2013/2014 Visiting Residency is now open.
The deadline for submissions is August 12, 2013.
